Connecting Cleveland through trails

Sometime over the summer of 2023, I was contacted by a friend named Lennie Stover. I was introduced to Lennie in 2018 through a contact I made during the pre-production phase of a documentary – “Train Ave“, I was directing and producing at the time.

That film project was appropriately named after the westside Cleveland road – Train Avenue, that the film was examining after dozens of dead dogs over the course of several months were being discovered along the side of the road by a talented artist. Unfortunately, that film was completed but never released to the public. It is, however, currently being reworked with a new title – “2 Miles“. For more information on that documentary, go here:

Lennie is the Founder and Project Coordinator of the Red Line Greenway, an ambitious initiative he had been working on implementing that would connect eight westside neighborhoods to downtown Cleveland, utilizing a rails-to-trails type infrastructure.

The reason The Red Line Greenway was so significant in Lennie and I connecting is due to a section of his two-mile all-purpose trail butting right up against Train Avenue.

Phase I and II of The Red Line Greenway were completed and opened to the public in 2021. So when it came time to begin planning Phase III, Lennie approached me about making a promotional video to use for the planning and fundraising situations. And, of course I wanted in on this special project!
