overview

My name is Jeff Theman, and I am the human behind River Fire Films, LLC. For over 45 years there have been two main constants in my life – an inherent love of the arts and dogs.

From the moment I was able to pick up a pencil and put it to paper, I knew I’d spend the rest of my life creating things. From drawing and painting to creative writing – one form of artistic expression always led to another, and then another…and yet another, and so on and so forth.

Nowadays I spend the majority of my time as an independent filmmaker, who works on both projects of my own, while also offering freelance services to business and consumer clients. Above all – I am a story-teller.

Film & Video

I am an experienced and competent director, producer and video editor, who excels at managing the workflow of projects – big or small, from concept to completion. From full feature documentaries to freelance business and consumer video and photography services, each film or video project gets my full attention to detail.

Photography

While most of my creative energy is spent making films and other videos, I do use photography as a way to escape from the longer process of filmmaking for a more instant shot of dopamine, while also taking on freelance assignments.

Advocacy

It probably didn’t take you very long to notice a common trend in the theme of many projects I gravitate towards – most feature dogs in some capacity.

In truth – Dogs are a source of inspiration for many reasons, and an invaluable tool due to their natural ability to reach a wide audience of people that opens doors discussing potentially sensitive topics. This section about advocacy pertains to my work with the human-canine bond, where my creative side crosses paths with the love for dogs.
